The Victoria Baths Archive includes the rich history of Victoria Baths, plus the Baths & Washhouses of Manchester and the history of swimming and Turkish Baths in general. It contains a collection of pictures, documents, objects and memories.
Where does our Archive come from?
Our Archive is home to a collection of items, some of which were left in the building when it closed. A larger proportion is made up of donations from other organisations and the general public. We have also acquired some material from other Baths & Wash Houses after they were closed. We have the privilege to currently be hosting a number of items relating to our most famous swimmer Sunny Lowry, on loan from Dover Museum.
