Painting Pool at Victoria Baths, 2026

Painting Pool at Victoria Baths
Tuesday 11 August, 11am to 3pm
Visit an iconic Manchester landmark and help us turn our Gala Pool into a giant work of art. This time our empty pool becomes a massive canvas for everyone to paint on. Bring your imagination and join us for a colourful, creative day that is perfect for families.
What is Painting Pool
Relax in the empty Gala Pool and help us create a huge collaborative artwork. We will provide brushes, paints and plenty of inspiration. Add your own shapes, patterns, doodles or designs to our giant floor canvas. No experience needed, just enthusiasm and a love of colour.

Enjoy a relaxed and creative day under our beautiful glass roof. The Gala Pool is weatherproof, bright and spacious, making it the perfect place for families to unwind and get messy with paint. Bring blankets or cushions if you want a comfy spot while you take a break from painting.
This event is part of our weekly Welcome Tuesday which includes:
- Our entertaining and informative Discover Victoria Baths tour, led by an experienced volunteer guide. Doors open at 11am for free general building entry and the guided tour starts at 1pm, lasting approximately 1¼ hours. Tours cost £10 per person.
- Browse and buy souvenirs and gifts in our wonderful Gift Shop and visit our beautiful Tea Room with its stained glass windows and elaborate wrought iron ceiling, serving hot and cold drinks, and snacks.
- Explore the Grade II* listed building which is remarkably intact, with beautiful stained glass windows, amazing wall tiles, and incredible mosaic flooring behind the imposing exterior.
All of our activities are first come first serve, and there is a small chance that we might run out of some crafting materials or there might not be enough time for everyone to have their face painted. We will try our best though!
