The Big Board Game Takeover 

Tuesday 18 August, 11am to 3pm 

Get ready for a day of games, challenges and family fun as Victoria Baths is taken over by a giant board game, board game cafe and playful activities for all ages. 

Giant Snakes and Ladders in the Gala Pool 

Our empty Gala Pool becomes a huge Snakes and Ladders board. Eight players enter each twenty minute session and battle it out to reach the final square. Only one winner per game. You must book your session when purchasing your ticket. Spaces are limited. 

Activities on the day 

📖 Storytelling with The Short Story Lady 1pm to 2pm A lively hour of tales, imagination and fun for children. Perfect for families who love a good story. 

🎲 Board Game Cafe in the Sports Hall Drop in, grab a table and choose from a big selection of board games. From quick and silly games to longer strategy challenges, there is something for everyone. Stay for ten minutes or settle in for the afternoon. 

🧘 Family Yoga Session 2pm to 3pm Bring the family together for a playful yoga adventure in the beautiful surroundings of Victoria Baths. Designed for children aged four and over and their grown ups, these sessions mix movement, touch and sound to encourage curiosity, connection and confidence. You will explore simple poses, breathing activities and mindful games that invite laughter, relaxation and a chance to move, stretch and unwind as a family. No previous yoga experience needed. Wear comfortable clothing and come ready to play. 

Important information for yoga Children must be aged four or over. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Maximum of two children per adult. No yoga mats will be provided, so please bring with you 

🕵 Building Trail and Pigeon Hunt Not real pigeons, but plenty of exploring.

🎉 Entry is £1 per person. Tickets available online and on the door. Booking is advised. 

This event is part of our weekly  Welcome Tuesday which includes:
 

• Our entertaining and informative Discover Victoria Baths tour, led by an experienced volunteer guide. Doors open at 11am for free general building entry and the guided tour starts at 1pm, lasting approximately 1¼ hours. Tours cost £10 per person. 

• Browse and buy souvenirs and gifts in our wonderful Gift Shop and visit our beautiful Tea Room with its stained glass windows and elaborate wrought iron ceiling, serving hot and cold drinks, and snacks. 

• Explore the Grade II* listed building which is remarkably intact, with beautiful stained glass windows, amazing wall tiles, and incredible mosaic flooring behind the imposing exterior. 

All of our activities are first come first serve, and there is a small chance that we might run out of some materials or there might not be enough time for everyone to play Giant Snakes and Ladders, so please make sure you book your slot. We will try our best to fit everyone in!
