Visit an iconic Manchester landmark for free and take an optional paid guided tour of the partly-restored swimming pools, Turkish Baths, and Superintendent’s Flat. Discover the remarkably intact Grade II* listed building with beautiful stained glass windows, amazing wall tiles, and incredible mosaic flooring behind the imposing exterior.

Welcome Wednesday is an opportunity to explore Victoria Baths for free, but to experience it in its full glory, book onto one of our excellent and informative tours! Our Discover Victoria Baths tour is led by an experienced volunteer guide and covers the heritage and history of the Baths whilst taking you through the beautiful building. Our Wednesday Tour starts at 1pm and lasts approximately 1¼ hours. Tour tickets are available to purchase in advance. Limited tickets may be available on the door but we advise booking online for our tours to avoid disappointment. Tour tickets for Under 18’s are free but must be accompanied by an adult ticket holder.

This year we are partnering with local art collective Pool Arts to present a series of exhibitions taking place in our Tea Room and Pineapple Room. Beginning with “A Work in Progress” – a cross section of the diverse and varied work of the Pool Art’s collective.

Browse and buy souvenirs and gifts in our wonderful Gift Shop and visit our beautiful Tea Room with its stained glass windows and elaborate wrought iron ceiling, serving hot and cold drinks, snacks, and a bookable Cream Tea.

• Guided Tour – £9 per person (U18s and VB Friends are Free)
• General Entry – Free, donations always welcome. No booking required – drop in.
• Cream Tea – £6 per person

• 11am – Doors Open
• 1pm – Tour begins (approx. 1 hr 15 mins)
• 2pm – Last entry and last orders in the Tea Room
• 3pm – Building Closes

More about Welcome Wednesdays at Victoria Baths

• Cream Teas 
  To make your visit extra special, enjoy a delicious Cream Tea in our beautiful Tea Room – a large fruit scone accompanied by butter, strawberry jam, clotted cream, and tea or coffee. Jam first or cream… it’s up to you! Available to book in advance – £6 per person.
• General Entry
  You don’t need to book to explore the building or visit the Tea Room and Gift Shop on a Wednesday – it’s free to pop in between 11am–3pm. Please donate to the Victoria Baths Trust if you can – we have cash and contactless donation points in the building.
• Pool Arts at Victoria Baths
  2024 will see a series of Pool Arts exhibitions taking place at Victoria Baths, beginning with “A Work in Progress” – a cross section of the diverse and varied work of the Pool Art’s collective. Find the exhibitions in the Tea Room. Pool Arts is a collective of artists working to break down the barriers that can exist in the world of art and gets its name from the fact that it began life at Victoria Baths.  This the first time that the organisation has exhibited at the Baths across a whole year and we’re proud to support the work of Pool Arts in raising awareness of the positive role that art and culture can play in the wellbeing of the community.
• Family Friendly
  Victoria Baths is a great place for all ages to explore. Pick up a “Miles of Tiles” activity sheet when you arrive (suggested donation £1), explore our spaces, and get involved in our free family activities in half-terms and the Summer Holidays – no need to book.
  Don’t miss our Pool Picnic family day in August, tickets available on our website from May.
• Group Bookings

• Other Events
  Please note there may be times when Welcome Wednesdays has other activities taking place alongside the usual activity such as event setup, family activity, and private tours. Where possible we will update these details on our website, please check our website and social media for up-to-date information.
• Photographs
  Photography and filming for personal use is permitted anywhere in the building. Personal photos and films/videos may not be used or sold for commercial gain. Please contact enquiries@victoriabaths.org.uk for information about professional or commercial shoots.
• Return Visits 
  Victoria Baths is a great place to visit again and again. Whether it be for meetings, remote working, catch-ups with friends and family, or just as a place to enjoy and relax. Make Wednesday your weekly bath day!
