The People Who Lived Upstairs

25 March 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

An online talk centred on the Superintendent’s Flat above Victoria Baths and the families who lived there

Join us for the first in our Hidden Histories series, online talks lead by Victoria Baths’ staff and volunteers:

The People Who Lived Upstairs

When Victoria Baths was designed and built, the architects included living accommodation for the Superintendent of Manchester Baths and Wash Houses. The position of Superintendent was an important one, being responsible for the smooth running of all of Manchester’s Baths and Wash Houses.

Join us to find out what it was like to live above a swimming pool as we unearth the stories of the Superintendents and their families who lived and worked at Victoria Baths.

Event suitable for older children and adults.

You don’t need to book multiple tickets for multiple attendees, just book one for each screen you will be using.

  • One ticket per screen
  • 7pm – 8pm
  • Suggested minimum donation £5

Please be aware that the talk may be recorded for our archive.

We’re running this event on a ‘Pay what you Feel’ basis and suggest a minimum of £5 per ticket. Every donation helps to support Victoria Baths, who look after this beautiful building for the community of Manchester and beyond.

Victoria Baths Trust is a registered charity and relies on the support of the public to continue its efforts to fully restore the building.
