Take a guided tour of Manchester’s Victoria Baths on a Wednesday afternoon. Tea Room and Gift Shop open.

Wednesday Afternoon Guided Building Tour

Visit the Manchester landmark that won BBC Two’s first Restoration programme in 2003 and take a guided tour of its partly-restored swimming pools, Turkish Baths and Superintendent’s Flat.

Grade II* listed, Victoria Baths is still remarkably intact, with beautiful stained glass windows, iconic green wall tiles and incredible mosaic flooring behind the imposing exterior.

Victoria Baths served the community for 86 years with three swimming pools, Turkish Baths, a Laundry, Slipper Baths and an Aerotone (an early form of jacuzzi).

Conducted by one of our experienced volunteer tour guides, Tours are taking place this Summer for the first time in over 18 months, after a series of Covid lockdowns.

Doors open at 12:15pm and the Tour lasts approximately one hour. The 1st Tour is at 12.30pm and the 2nd Tour begins at 2pm.

Before and after the Tour you can browse and buy souvenirs and gifts in the Gift Shop and enjoy hot and cold drinks, cake and snacks in the Tea Room.

  • 12:15   Doors open
  • 12:30   1st Tour starts
  • 14:00 2nd Tour starts
  • 15:30   Building closes

Visitors can only come into the building on Wednesdays for guided tours.

We take the safety of our visitors, volunteers and staff very seriously. Full Covid safety measures are in place, including requiring visitors to wear face masks when inside the building (unless exempt), asking all visitors to register on the NHS app (or on paper) for Track and Trace, additional cleaning measures, social distancing and hand sanitisers . Fortunately our building is nice and spacious and has good ventilation.
