DESCRIPTION:The Big Paper Aeroplane Showdown\nTuesday 25 August\, 11am to 3pm\nJoin us for a day of crafting\, colour and friendly competition as Victoria Baths becomes a giant aeroplane hangar. Build it\, decorate it\, launch it and see how far your creation can fly. \nOur empty Gala Pool transforms into a huge crafting hangar filled with everything you need to make and decorate your perfect paper aeroplane. Create something sleek\, colourful or completely wild. When your plane is ready\, head up to the Sports Hall Balcony which becomes our official launch zone. Throw your plane into the pool and see how far it travels. We will measure every throw and keep a running leaderboard throughout the day. \nThere are two prizes: • Furthest Throw • Best Decorated Plane \n \nActivities on the day\n📖 Ten Tickling Toes Storytelling Session 11am. A joyful session with local author Morag Dennett celebrating her charming book Ten Tickling Toes. Expect songs\, nursery rhymes and plenty of fun for babies and younger children. Copies will be available to buy with a book signing afterwards. Please book your slot when purchasing your ticket. \n🧘 Family Yoga Session 2pm to 3pm Bring the family together for a playful yoga adventure in the beautiful surroundings of Victoria Baths. Designed for children aged four and over and their grown ups\, these sessions mix movement\, touch and sound to encourage curiosity\, connection and confidence. You will explore simple poses\, breathing activities and mindful games that invite laughter\, relaxation and a chance to move\, stretch and unwind as a family. No previous yoga experience needed. Wear comfortable clothing and come ready to play. Please book your slot when purchasing your ticket. \nImportant information for yoga Children must be aged four or over. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Maximum of two children per adult. \nEvent details\n📍Victoria Baths \n🗓️ Tuesday 25 August \n⏰ 11am to 3pm \n🎉 Entry is £1 per person Tickets available online and on the door. \n \nThis event is part of our weekly  Welcome Tuesday which includes: \n\nOur entertaining and informative Discover Victoria Baths tour\, led by an experienced volunteer guide. Doors open at 11am for free general building entry and the guided tour starts at 1pm\, lasting approximately 1¼ hours. Tours cost £10 per person. \n\n\nBrowse and buy souvenirs and gifts in our wonderful Gift Shop and visit our beautiful Tea Room with its stained glass windows and elaborate wrought iron ceiling\, serving hot and cold drinks\, and snacks. \n\n\nExplore the Grade II* listed building which is remarkably intact\, with beautiful stained glass windows\, amazing wall tiles\, and incredible mosaic flooring behind the imposing exterior. \n\nSome of our activities are first come first serve\, and there is a small chance that we might run out of some materials or there might not be enough time for everyone to thorw their plane. Other activitives need you to pre book\, so please make sure you book your slot when you are buying your ticket.
