With fifty specially-selected stalls selling a fantastic variety of high-quality\, handmade crafts including artworks\, prints\, jewellery\, ceramics\, candles and edibles. \nOur volunteer-led Tea Room will be serving sandwiches\, cakes\, snacks and hot & cold drinks – plus mulled wine and mince pies! \nAs you explore the beautiful pools and Turkish Baths\, stop off in our Gift Shop for a great variety of items celebrating Victoria Baths including tea-towels\, mugs\, cards\, postcards\, coasters\, keyrings\, pens and small-batch VB Gin! \nDiscover more with our highly-recommended Guided Tours\, bringing to life the heritage of Victoria Baths. Tours cost £8 per person and last just over an hour… \nDiscover Victoria Baths is an entertaining guided tour of the main building\, including the pool halls and Turkish Baths. \nOff Limits Tour* visits many areas not normally open to the public\, including the pool undercrofts and boiler house. This tour involves stairs and uneven floors and isn’t suitable for visitors with limited mobility. \nSupporting Victoria Baths Trust \nVictoria Baths Trust is a registered charity and relies on the support of the public to continue its efforts to fully repair and preserve the building. DESCRIPTION:Pool Arts take over Victoria Baths for a weekend of creativity!\n\n\nJoin us this Heritage Open Days weekend as we celebrate the past and present of Victoria Baths with our specially curated Pools of Creativity event.   \nCelebrating this year’s Heritage Open Days theme of “Creativity Unwrapped”\, Pools of Creativity explores the creative past and present of Victoria Baths. From artistic swimming and the use of the Gala Pool as a dancefloor in the 1950s to the thirty years of creative activity since the building closed as a pool in 1993. Including housing Pool Arts\, who take their name from the Baths. Creativity has always been a key part of Victoria Baths! \nPools of Creativity will see the return of Pool Arts artists for a weekend takeover of Victoria Baths. With art and installation to be found across the site\, deep in the pools and high atop the balconies. Explore an exciting mix of artists\, genres and media\, as we celebrate Pool Arts return together for the first time since 2005! \nPools of Creativity promises a diverse and immersive experience for visitors of all ages. In addition to our usual Heritage Open Days offerings\, including free entry and captivating building tours (paid)\, we have a lineup of exciting events throughout the weekend:  \nPool Arts \nReturning to the Baths\, the original home of Pool Arts until 2005. Today’s cohort of artists will take over the whole of Victoria Baths for the weekend with a celebration of visual art\, installation\, mixed media and creativity! Celebrating the Pool Arts and VBs history\, and inviting attendees to get creative as well\, with interactive pieces and activities. Dive into Pool Arts and get creative. Expect an exciting trail of art in every space\, as you wander the beautiful building. \nBack on Track\nBack on Track invite you to look down the lenses of their photography group in a captivating digital exhibition of Manchester landmarks\, including a focus on the features of Victoria Baths. Supporting Adults to make lasting life changes\, Back On Track are a specialist provider of community learning and holistic support to adults across Manchester.  \nVic51 \nA pool full of water is traditionally seen as a facility for swimming. Victoria Baths followed this tradition more times than not. However\, there are moments peppered throughout the history of Victoria Baths\, which act on the contrary. This special exhibition explores how Tony Wilson’s\, The Other Side of Midnight\, “WET” party in 1988 began a chain reaction of Victoria Baths being used for parties in the pools \nSHEChoir MCR\nReturning favourites\, SHE Choir MCR are sure to enchant and enthrall\, as they perform their heavenly harmonies and choral magic in the deep end of the Gala Pool. Enjoy their beautiful voices in the equally beautiful space of the Gala Pool. (Sunday only) \nOrdsall Acappella Singers \nSinging a range of beautiful Acapella songs\, no two shows are the same from the wonderful Ordsall Accapella Singers. With a repertoire from classic rock\, upbeat pop\, and traditional to newly composed pieces\, don’t miss the much loved choir return to the Baths (Sunday only) \nAs well as a limited exhibition showcasing the creative uses and activities of Victoria Baths from 1906 to today. Explore the many events\, shows\, gigs\, raves and more creative uses of the Victoria Baths from its opening\, and the thirty years since its closure as a swimming pool in 1993. Celebrating the Pool Arts and VBs history\, and inviting attendees to get creative as well\, with interactive pieces and activities. Dive into Pool Arts and get creative. Expect an exciting trail of art in every space\, as you wander the beautiful building. \nBack on Track\nBack on Track invite you to look down the lenses of their photography group in a captivating digital exhibition of Manchester landmarks\, including a focus on the features of Victoria Baths. Supporting Adults to make lasting life changes\, Back On Track are a specialist provider of community learning and holistic support to adults across Manchester.  \nVic51 \nA pool full of water is traditionally seen as a facility for swimming. Victoria Baths followed this tradition more times than not. However\, there are moments peppered throughout the history of Victoria Baths\, which act on the contrary. This special exhibition explores how Tony Wilson’s\, The Other Side of Midnight\, “WET” party in 1988 began a chain reaction of Victoria Baths being used for parties in the pools \nSHEChoir MCR\nReturning favourites\, SHE Choir MCR are sure to enchant and enthrall\, as they perform their heavenly harmonies and choral magic in the deep end of the Gala Pool. Enjoy their beautiful voices in the equally beautiful space of the Gala Pool. (Sunday only) \nOrdsall Acappella Singers \nSinging a range of beautiful Acapella songs\, no two shows are the same from the wonderful Ordsall Accapella Singers. With a repertoire from classic rock\, upbeat pop\, and traditional to newly composed pieces\, don’t miss the much loved choir return to the Baths (Sunday only) \nAs well as a limited exhibition showcasing the creative uses and activities of Victoria Baths from 1906 to today. SUMMARY:Summer Holidays at Victoria Baths
DESCRIPTION:Make Welcome Wednesday a summer holiday hot spot!\nDon’t miss our family-friendly Welcome Wednesdays this August! Join us every Wednesday and explore the beautiful building\, learn about the heritage and history of this Manchester landmark\, and get creative with a free craft station in our Females Pool. \nPop in between 11am – 3pm\, no need to book!\nOur kids’ craft station is loaded with colourful materials to make decorations and artwork inspired by the building. The stained glass of the windows\, the flowers featured in the design work\, and the artistry found in every detail are where the creative ideas begin. \nSummer also sees the launch of a new kids trail Miles of Tiles\, an exciting way to experience the different spaces of Victoria Baths with family and friends. There are fun tasks to complete along the way and curious questions that you need to be eagled-eyed to discover the answers to. It’s suitable for ages 5+ and is free to take part in\, with a suggested donation of £1\, and when you’ve finished the trail there is a small prize to claim at the Welcome Desk. \nIf you prefer your exploring pursuits to be led by a guide then you can join a building tour with one of the brilliant volunteer guides at 1 pm. Suitable for all ages and lasting just over an hour the tour will reveal Victoria Baths’ history and fascinating stories. \nDiscover Victoria Baths Tour – every week at Welcome Wednesday \nTickets are £8 for adults (free for Friends of Victoria Baths) and children under 16 are free. \n  \nThose who cannot make it on a Wednesday in August will find all the activities packed into Welcome Sunday on Sunday 27 August. \n  \nPicnic in the Pool \nOn Wednesday 16 August there will be a very special Picnic in the Pool and everyone is welcome to enjoy a stay and play with a difference. It will be a visual delight with everyone encouraged to bring blankets\, cushions and teddies to fill the Gala Pool\, which is the perfect setting come rain or shine thanks to its beautiful glass vaulted ceiling. You can bring your own spread of goodies or purchase snacks and treats from the Victoria Baths Tea Room\, which will be stocked with younger visitors’ favourite items. Everyone will be gathering from 12noon with music setting the scene and a range of activities and games to enjoy. There will be lots of posing for pictures taking place with a kids’ photo booth and dress up area to have some laughs over. Entry is free\, with donations encouraged\, and all the other Family Friendly summer activities will also be taking place. DESCRIPTION:A guided tour of Manchester’s Victoria Baths or free general building entry on a Wednesday afternoon. Tea Room and Gift Shop open.\n\n\nWelcome Wednesdays\nGuided Tour and General Entry\nVisit an iconic Manchester landmark for free and take an optional paid guided tour of the partly-restored swimming pools\, Turkish Baths and Superintendent’s Flat.\nThe Grade II* listed building is remarkably intact\, with beautiful stained glass windows\, amazing wall tiles and incredible mosaic flooring behind the imposing exterior.\nOur entertaining and informative Discover Victoria Baths tour is led by an experienced volunteer guide. Doors open at 11am for free general entry and the guided tour starts at 1pm\, lasting approximately 1¼ hours.  \nTour tickets are available to purchase in advance. Limited tickets may be available of the door but we advise booking online to avoid disappointment. Tour tickets for Under 16’s are free but must be accompanied by an adult ticket holder.  \n*﻿Please note we are closed on Wednesday 6 September\, we are open as usual the following week \nBrowse and buy souvenirs and gifts in our wonderful Gift Shop and visit our beautiful Tea Room with its stained glass windows and elaborate wrought iron ceiling\, serving hot and cold drinks\, snacks\, and a bookable Cream Tea.  \nVisiting with young ones? With free entry\, optional paid guided tours and family friendly activities each month. \nPlus we’ll be joined by a range of community groups who will use spaces across the Baths for free activities and information sessions. Join us to explore the Baths and your local community in one!\n\nOur Grade II* listed building is remarkably intact\, with beautiful stained glass windows\, amazing wall tiles and incredible mosaic flooring behind the imposing exterior. \nOur entertaining and informative Discover Victoria Baths tours are conducted by experienced volunteer guides. Doors open at 12noon for free general entry and the guided tour starts at 1pm\, lasting approximately 1¼ hours. Take the afternoon to wander the building\, browse our Gift Shop\, and pick up a tasty treat from our pop-up tea room.  \nEach month we will be joined by community groups and organisations\, showcasing their work around the local area and using our spaces for their activities. Victoria Baths is open to visitors every Wednesday from April – September.\n\n\n\nVisit the Manchester landmark that won BBC Two’s first Restoration programme in 2003 and take a guided tour of its partly-restored swimming pools\, Turkish Baths and Superintendent’s Flat.\n\n\nGrade II* listed\, the building is remarkably intact\, with beautiful stained glass windows\, amazing wall tiles and incredible mosaic flooring behind the imposing exterior.\nVictoria Baths served the community for 86 years with three swimming pools\, Turkish Baths\, a Laundry\, Slipper Baths and Aeratone.\n\nJoin us for an entertaining and informative tour of the building conducted by one of our experienced volunteer guides. Doors open at 11am for general entry\, the guided tour starts at 1pm and lasts approximately 1¼ hours.
